Campaign Sign Theft
As Election Day approaches the township roads and intersections have become very busy with campaign signs. The Readington Township Police Department supports all candidates, and their supporters to campaign fairly and harmoniously.

Please remember that campaign signs are considered personal property. If posted on private property, only the property owner or those authorized by the property owner may remove a campaign sign. If the sign is posted on public property, only the state or township maintenance department, or law enforcement personnel in addition to the sign owner may remove the campaign sign.

Keep in mind, that not only is it extremely embarrassing to be found tampering with another's campaign sign it is an illegal act. Possible charges may be Theft and or Criminal Mischief.

Support and encourage those candidates running for office, but please do so fairly.
